Animal Rights

When I look at all the different animals, I see beautiful, amazing, friendly souls filled with love and light.

“The only difference between us and animal beings is that we all have different types of bodies to walk around here on Earth, on this physical plane. A dog has the body of a dog, a cow has the body of a cow, a bird has the body of a bird, a human has the body of a human, and so forth, but deep down inside we are all spiritual beings having a physical earthly experience. The same spark of life, joy, and love for life that exists within you exists in all living beings despite what body type we all have.” – Toto Wanje

Everyone says that they love animals until you ask them to not eat them. That’s when they want to kill them and cut their throats whilst claiming that they love them. – Toto Wanje

When I became vegan I wondered; why people eat cows, chickens, goats, sheep, turkeys, pigs and ducks and not lions, tigers, and hyenas. People eat these animals because they are the most innocent, kind, loving animals on earth, they have absolutely no way of defending themselves. People have chosen to eat these animals because they are the most peaceful ones. They are the easiest to exploit and enslave and are the ones that don’t run away from humans. They are some of the only animals that actually seek human friendship and human connection.

We are taught from childhood to treat some animals differently from others. We play with cats and dogs but eat pigs and cows. We become angry, frustrated and sad when lions and giraffes are killed in the poaching industry or when whales and dolphins are hunted in the sea and yet we applaud people who hunt deer, wolves and elks. At the same time, we pay for goats and sheep to be killed so that we can eat them. We keep parrots as pets and go with our children to feed the ducks in the parks but eat chickens and turkeys. We treat some birds and animals with love and compassion even though all birds and animals are sentient loving feeling beings that each deserves to live, be loved and be treated with the same respect, kindness and compassion that we treat dogs and cats. Just like racism, speciesism is when we humans choose to treat some animals differently from other animals.

Global Culture Of Killing

We live in and participate in a global culture of death, the mass killing of animals. People who eat meat, when they are confronted with this cruel and evil reality of animal agriculture and when they are shown video footage of what happens in slaughterhouses, they often say that it doesn’t happen in their country”. They don’t seem to understand that animal agriculture and the killing of animals is a global culture of killing, death and cruelty that happens in every country around the world. There is no fully vegan country in the world. This means that every country in the world slaughters and kills animals.

Just imagine for yourself, think about this, where does all the meat come from that is in all the supermarkets and restaurants in your country if animals are not killed in your country? Every country in the world that sells meat, whether it’s in supermarkets or in restaurants, kills animals. There is no humane way to kill an innocent being that doesn’t want to die. Animals are innocent beings just like you and want to live and enjoy their life. Killing innocent beings is the act of brutally taking another being’s life, including animal life. There is no nice way of killing any animal or any being that doesn’t want to die. The same cruelty and brutality towards animals that happens in every slaughterhouse all over the world is happening in your country also.

For meat to exist and be sold in a supermarket or restaurant near you, animals must be slaughtered and killed. There are slaughterhouses in every country around the world. The countries that don’t have huge industrial slaughterhouses still kill animals in order to eat meat. In Kenya, where I come from, animals are killed in people’s backyards, behind restaurants and openly in people’s villages. Over 80 billion land animals are killed around the world every year. The killing of animals is an evil, sadistic, global culture of killing and death. Saying that animals are not brutally slaughtered in your country is not an excuse for not going vegan. Animal slaughter happens in your country. By choosing to become a vegan you will no longer be participating in this global culture of death and killing.

Animal Rights Activist

As sentient beings, animals have the ability to feel pain, fear, and suffering just like humans. Therefore, it is our moral duty as responsible individuals to acknowledge and respect their rights. The concept of animal rights stems from the belief that animals, just like humans, are entitled to a life free from exploitation, cruelty, and abuse at the hands of humans.

As animal rights advocates, we strongly believe that animals should not be used for entertainment, food, clothing, or any other purpose that causes them harm. We actively campaign against animal testing, and animal cruelty, and seek to raise awareness among the public about the ethical treatment of animals. This is because acknowledging and respecting animal rights reflects our empathy, kindness, and compassion towards all living beings.

By advocating for animal rights, we take a significant step towards building a more compassionate society that values and respects all forms of life. Hence, respecting the rights of animals contributes to the betterment of human society, because it builds a world that is just, and empathetic towards all living beings.

It is our duty as Vegans and Animal Rights Activists to work for Animal Rights, to educate the world about Veganism and to liberate Animals from the pain, torture and abuse we humans are causing them – Toto Wanje

Don’t hesitate. Don’t be shy. Don’t be nervous. Walk like you have a thousand animal rights activists behind you. Promote veganism and animal rights with confidence that can move mountains. We have to shake the world into a higher consciousness and compassion. We have a responsibility to the animals to work for animal rights. – Toto Wanje.

Animal Rights

Animal liberation is social justice movement to establish global animal liberation and animal rights and to ensure that all animals, including those that are commonly used for food, clothing and entertainment, have the right to live without exploitation and cruelty. It’s a movement that aims to abolish the various ways in which animals are used for human purposes, instead of just advocating for their welfare, protection and care.

Animal liberation acknowledges that non-human animals are sentient beings, capable of feeling pain, fear, joy and suffering. The movement seeks to raise awareness about the conditions that animals are subjected to in farming, research laboratories, zoos and circuses. It also advocates for legal protections for animals and promotes the alternatives to animal use, such as vegan or plant-based diets and cruelty-free products.

The goals of animal liberation may seem radical to some, but it is a necessary movement towards a more compassionate and sustainable world. It requires collective efforts and initiatives to create a society that values and respects all animals, regardless of their species.
